Roping the Wind

7th Annual Renewable Energy Conference
Agriculture Resource and Learning Center, 2011 Fairgrounds Road, Casper, WY
November 18th and 19th

So, where are we now?

After a summer of conferences, task force meetings, workshops and other gatherings to discuss the future of wind energy and other renewable energy sources, its time to take stock and ask the question above. That is the theme behind this year’s Roping the Wind Conference and we have a slate of great presentations planned to help provide the answer.

On Wednesday, we have a program intended for those wanting to know more about distributed energy technologies aimed at the individual user including small wind turbines, solar installations and geothermal energy use. There will also be a landowner’s forum that afternoon produced by Casper College to give landowners a chance to get information regarding wind development contracts and discuss the issues surrounding them.

Thursday we have a report out from the Legislative Wind Task Force regarding their findings on statewide regulations and potential taxes on wind. We will also hear the results and take-aways from the Western States Energy Forum held in Jackson. There will be a panel discussing wind severability issues and the legal aspects of various options being considered. Transmission continues to be a topic of concern and there will be a discussion on the progress of transmission into the state and the difficulties involved in getting new lines built. And these are just the high points of the agenda.

“Roping the Wind” comes back to Casper this year and will be held at the Agriculture Resource and Learning Center near the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. “Roping the Wind” will be available to the public at no charge.

If you or your company is interested in supporting Roping the Wind we welcome sponsorships to help cover the cost of advertising and other logistics. We really appreciate your assistance. Vendors and manufacturers are encouraged to attend and demonstrate their products. We offer very reasonable exhibit space and plenty of room to show off your equipment and services.
